Coopers, Goodyears, Bridgestones, Firestones, Toyos...Which is best???

I'm trying to get tires for my g/f's 98 5.0 AWD Explorer...

It has 235-75-15 Goodyear Wrangler RTS's on it and I'd like to get her something better. I'm looking for a tire that has good all weather traction, is quiet, decent mileage, and is safe...

I have gotten prices for:

Bridgestone Dueller A/T
Toyo Open Country
Yokohama Geolander HTS
Cooper ATR's
Firestone Destination LE
Kelly Safari

Which do you think is the best tire??? Any to avoid??? Any tire not listed that you like??? Thanks fellas.

Even though the company also makes Firestone tires (which aren't a bad tire, but improperly inflated like any tire will fail) I like the Bridgestone Dueler A/T . Good service life for a good price.

there are many posts on this topic on this forum and others. The vast majority prefer, and I agree, are the Michelin LTX MS. Excellent ride characteristics for explorers and great wear .If you really absolutely have a need for a more aggressive tread, go with the Mich LTX AT. Don't waste extra money on the Cross Terrains-- they are less of a tire all around.

I bought the house-brand Discount Tire Co ones.
They're black, have the same raised white letters, have lots of tread, are round, have the same govt ratings stamped in the side of them, will probably get me 60,000 miles like the last set, aren't advertised in auto enthusiasts magazines, and therefore are your BEST BUY.

I have the geolander at/II's they are awesome. I paid $550 for the four of them at discount tire, that included an excellent warranty.

I put the Toyos (load range C) on my 1997. They ride much better that the stock Goodyear RT/S's that it came with, though I did not have any complaints about the Goodyears. They still had some mileage left when I replaced them at 60,000 miles. One of them simply had one nail too many.
