Ok...I'm lazy and forgetful. IIRC, on my old explorer (also a 1994, same model..but of course, the engine was the same)...it had a timing chain..whereas the tensionor needed replaced...however....I am 99.8% sure it was just that...a timing chain...please verify for me that these do infact have a timing chain vs. belt.

Just looked, but I only show timing chain...so I am in the line of thinking that's what it has to be..but if someone could be so kind as to reassure me on this.

Yup = solid steel timing chain. Not sure if it is a roller or , what do they call the other kind?, looks like a steel mesh kind, but whatever it is, it is a steel chain for sure.
