a sad day at our house today
its abit off topic in this forum but, well tonight has bin very sad for my family and me,our 6 year old rottweiler,"GUINNESS" had to be put to sleep.he has bin sick with a tomour on his neck for a couple weeks.we got surgery done 2 weeks ago to remove it,but he has not got better,so after seeing our vet, and doing all that was humanly possible to save him, we were told he was not going to get better.we did not want him to suffer .i am having a hard time with his loss.in my heart he will always ride shot gun in the truck along with our other rotti "ROXY".any ways, the trucks not going to be the same, without my buddy. rest in peace GUINNESS.-billy

Sorry about your pal Billy, it's always tough.
The guy in my avatar was my constant wheelin bud for 12 years. It's been 3 years since we put him down, the Mrs. is just now able to look at his picture. I might put him on my dash, just won't be the same without him slobbering all over the place.

thanks everyone,it is VERY hard to deal with, but i keep telling myself he isnt suffering, and thats better for him.this is the 3rd dog ive had to say good bye to in my life, and it never is easy.i guess thats because we consider them more than pets, they are like our kids, part of the family.it helps alot to talk about him,and what a great pal he was to me and ROXYour female rotti.the funniest thing i saw him do was recently when we got our 2001 ranger 4x4,the dogs are used to jumping in my 74 dually 4x4,and they use a plank ramp to get in so they dont have to jump up into the truck.well i put the ramp on the tailgate, the dogs ran up into the box of the truck, and guinness sort of ran into the front bulkhead because the truck was lower, and shortbox.he turned around and looked at me as if i had played a mean trick on him.then he did a once around the box lookin down at the ground as if he was figuring out it wasnt "HIS" usual truck.it was funny to see happen. any way, im ramblin on an on,thanks again everyone-billy

I feel your pain on this one, really. I had to have my two German Shepherds put down. It's been 2 1/2 years since the last one, and I'm still not sure if I'm ready for another yet.
As for this being off-topic for this forum, don't worry about it. It's exactly the right kind of topic here. it sucks to have to do that job. but you can rest knowing his suffering is over and hes waiting at rainbow bridge for you.
the poem will make you cry. but it's how a lot of dog and pet owners feel we will meet again and he's going to be waiting for you.
