1978 F-100 I6 w/ 3spd. The column shifter is so loose it's hard to find a gear. Is there a rebuild kit for the steering colum/shifter? If not what is the next best plan?

 

Shifter hub on column can be replaced along with bushings at base of column.I have had to replace shifter shaft on a couple.All parts were available @dealer but may be obsolete now ,has been 2 years or so.This puts $ around $100,about cost of good floor shifter.Column fairly easy to repair,not rocket surgery.Get a manual. Brian

 

this happen to me so i just put in a floor shifter i had.
