Talking 170 ford engine

Howdy there people, i have a skidteer from thief river falls .mn Its called a "Big Mack" skidsteer and it has a 170 ford industrial motor and i was wondering where i can get some information for this Engine? Thanks for the responses.

Is it a six cylinder? Ford made a 144 cid engine enlarged it to a 170 CID engine that later was enlarged to 200cid. that engine was used in the Fairlane/ Comet line of Ford products. I know that they used some of these in industrial application no doubt with
some slight modification. They were pretty reliable, but the 144 was not stong enough
for hill counrty. The 170 and 200's were much better.

nope im positive its a 4 cylinder and its in a skeedsteer bobcat. Big Mack is the bobcat manufacturer.

Then it must be from Fords industrial engine line, sorry I can't help you with that. Try a
Ford tractor dealer.
