Wind wing adjustment

I installed the windwings in my 54 f-100 and when I installed the seperator bar the windwings hit the bar and will not close. What adjustment do I need to do so that the windwings close?

Do you have a Shop Manual? The process is described nicely in my 56 manual, but the vent windows are different from yours.

You should have some adjustment for the divider bar at the top of the door by loosening the attach screws. Adjust it so that the vent wing will close and the window will still slide nicely. That's my guess based on my 56.

Even when I move the divider bar back there is not enough clearance. Any other ideas?

It sounds like the windwing itself is not "home." The rubber may not be into the door frame far enough. I would loosent the screws and push the windwing forward until it seats and then make sure the window channel is all the way back. Good luck, Jag

Is there space at the front? I'd look and see if the pivot mounts can be adjusted. Did you replace the glass? maybe the glass is not fully seated?

I didn't replace the glass or anything other than the divider bar and it is identical to the one that came out. I was able to get one windwing adjusted to close today. It is very tight, but just does clear the divider bar. The passenger side I have tried everything and although I was able to get the windwing to seat better, I still need a little more adjustment.

The way we used to adjust them was to loosen everything up, close the wing and latch it, roll the window up and tighten everything back up.
