Wink new to the diesel truck scene

Hello, i have a large ranch out in arizona and have other diesel tractors ,etc but i have never had a ford truck with a diesel . anyway i will get to the questions

1) i have heard that if you chip the new fords you could have problem with the transmission , etc So what ones are safe ?
2) i plan on using this truck off road only for the rest of the year, so can i run off road fuel in it ? will it mess up the cat ? if so should i take it off for now or will that make more problems with other things
3) what other problem will off road fuel make for me with the newer fords ?
And yes i know i can not run this truck on the street with red fuel and do not plan on it, i do not want to pay the big fines, but see nothing wrong with it if i am off road !
thanks for the info
4) also this is a 03 f250 with the 6L , and i got it used So is there a way for me to look up on the net to see if this truck has been worked on by ford, like replacing parts that went bad? replair made... i dont think carfax will help with this info
thanks

1. From what I have read the transmission is the least of you worries if you performance program your truck. My tranny has been bullet proof, I have done the service and oil changes recommended. (my truck does have the latest stock programming in it so mabey some of the guys with "tuned" trucks should chime in here)
2. In my area the off-road fuel is diesel OR heating oil that has been dyed red after loading. So I suspose that if you get into a load going to a construction site or ? and it is diesel, there are no problems with using it. In some places dyed fuel is heating oil or lower grade diesel which may not have additives which help your truck, its a real crap shoot. Ask the supplier what it is. I own a diesel boat which uses dyed fuel and the dye has never been a problem in the engine.
3. Go to a ford dealer and have them run an Oasis report on your truck VIN number, it will tell you what has been done to it, recalls, etc.

If your vehicle qualifies as a farm vehicle there wouldn't be a problem with using AG fuel. AG fuel is red dyed diesel fuel. It's debatable that red dyed fuel is all the same, home heating oil doesn't have to meet the same standards (sulfur content) that diesel fuel does. Anyway you look at it, if you don't qualify as an exempt vehicle, and run into warranty problems, you can be sure Ford will dispute your claim. For your Oasis, go to Flatrate Tech and request an Oasis report, here's the link.

In some areas - the red dyed stuff - is the high sulfur fuels of 10 years ago. Don't know if it will mess with the egr or other environmental parts. Anyone know on this.

Exclamation red fuel

well i do know a guy that does run it all the time in his truck...he got away with it for a long time with no problem to his truck, but last time he did it was a 80% red fuel mix with 20% bio.. and it screwed his rig up bad...dont know if it was the red or the bio but one of them was dirty.. i have been telling him not to run it all the time...being that he does drive his on the street. but he just lazy, because his company buy all his fuel , so its not like he's saving money . he just pump it from the job site because he does not have to goto the gas station
anyway this is what got me worried about the cat's ,etc on my truck
thanks

the bio just cleaned out the sludge from the fuel tank and deposited it in the fuel filter. This is a normal situation for the bio. I have used bio at the 5% range and had to change the fuel filters in everything after the first 2 tank fills. I've used it for 6 years and no problems after the first change of filters. Really cleans the system good.

If you have a problem, Ford won't be happy if your using red dyed fuel if your not supposed to. If it turned out that this fuel was different (home heating oil) than normal low sulfur diesel, I'm sure they wouldn't honor the warranty.

I don't know if there is a difference in fuels, or even if it makes a difference, but my fuel oil deliveryman told me, at the terminal they had dyed, and undyed diesel, also dyed #2 home heating oil.

If it's costlier to produce low sulfur diesel fuel than home heating oil, I would think it's not the same product.
