Fatfenders56/Tim-
Do you recall how many gallons the 55 saddle tank held? My new project uses the C4 Corvette rear IRS and there is not much room for a rear tank, especially when I add the stabilizer bar so I am looking for alternatives. I guess a guy might use two of these tanks with the transfer switches/valves?

the problem with using two of the 3-4-5 style tanks is filling them, I never came up with anything that wasn't a rube goldberg at best. The set-up I used filled both tanks from the left hand side. Speaking of that, the bottom tank used a non-vented filler cap and was tied to the upper tank with hard line, that allowed the bottom tank to vent thru the top one and kept the fumes away from the underside of the truck. the pics in my gallery give a pretty good view. As for capacity, I don't remember, but a gallon is 231 cubic inches if you can find a tank to measure

With 4.88 gears, 9 mpg, and the stock tank in my 56 F-250, I tend to think of the fuel quantity in terms of available miles rather than gallons...a full tank gets me about 130-140 miles.

It's a good thing I love that truck so much...
