Hi I have a 97 ford explorer sport auto 4.0 my probelm is that when i am driving and i let off the gas it makes this unbelievable loud whining grinding noise almost like when you have a fishing rod and it is whining!! anyway i pop it in neutral and pop it back in drive and as long as i dont let off the gas it wont make that noise but as soon as i do let off it is so loud.. it is not coming from the rear sounds more like middle to front. I am not sure what it would be transfer case or trainy I dont want to go buy a trainy if it does not need one.. please help me.. thanks Lisa

Hard to tell with that description Lisa. If you think it a drivetrain issue, should have a good shop check it out.
