tech questions
Im working on a 93 F350 4x4.... Im doing a mass air convertion... I want to know why there are two water lines flowing through my throtle body and if I can do away with them. There also two vaccume lines that go to a canister on the pasenger side fender, what good do those do. I have lots of oil going through my pcv ( REPLACED WHEN REBUILD WAS INSTALLED 3 WEEKS AGO) Compression test was excellent. Spark plugs still look new. My intake manifold was hottanked and now the inside looks like crusty oil. ((((( WHY)))))) Oh and I almost forgot. I broke two pins on my EEC PLUG. Where can one find those... Maybe NAPA

The vac lines going to the fender are important, in fact all vacuum lines are very important. There should be a metal "coffee can" resevoir attached to the fender, it holds spare vacuum to operate certain valves when the engine vacuum is low. The can will rust and cause problems( a vac leak), there is a check valve to keep the vacuum inside the can and it is fed by the vacuum tee from your manifold, the other line that is leaving the can operates vacuum controlled valves down the line.
There may be another vacuum reservoir on the side of your heater blower box, if the box has a silver insulation blanket on it, the reservoir will be underneth the blanket. There is another plastic cannister, mounted low in the front of the engine that contains charcoal, and the vacuum to that will help gasoline fummes from being emitted.
If your PCV is sucking oil, that is bad! Did you change the stock valve covers???
The original valve cover probably had a breather hose running to the airbox that lets fresh air run thru the crankcase, that air mixes with the crankcase gas, and eventually will be sucked up thru the PCV and into the manifold for a re-burn.

Thanks cj. I had an old harness out back with some pins ... Im going to see if they work but if not you'll be the first to know. Right now Im wiring the new computer so I should know in a hurry. Oh buy the way does anyone know how to adjust rockers. I have rollers on windsor heads and the pasenger side looks a little difficult to do while the engine is running

The rockers are pretty simple to adjust, spin the pushrod between two fingers to feel for resistance as you easily snug the rocker arm bolt. When you feel resistance STOP, now get your torque whench and torque the bolt to 18 ft/Ibs, it should take more than a 1/4 turn, and no more than 1/2 turn to reach the torque setting. If it takes less then a 1/4 turn to reach the torque setting you will need longer push rods, and if it takes more than a 1/2 turn you will need to shim the rockers.
Good luck
