Talking Royal Purple???

Ok I know another oil question, what am I thinking asking a crazy debate storm starter like this. Anyways those that use Royal Purple in your 6.0L PSD let me know your thoughts, comments, and experience with this oil. (15W-40 Syn) Thanks for your help, this website is a valuable information source.

Thanks,

Motown Fire

OXY petroleum switched over to Royal Purple synthetic in all of their Nat Gas engines when they had a bunch of platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. They got good extended oil changes out of it, (Jeff will certainly have a comment here, I am not advocating extended oil changes, just stating when you buy 50,000 gallons of engine oil a year extended OCI can save you real money without ill effects if coupled with a good oil analysis program) had no issues with the swap, and had less main & rod bearing wear showing during their annual inspections. I would not hesitate to use it, however the only reason that I chose what I chose (rotella t synthetic) was simply because of its availability in my local area.

I use RP and so far like it. seat of the pants. I will be sending in a sample soon, and will share results. I noticed that my 6.0 really likes RP,engine is quieter, smoother ideling(sp) and while pulling a 10k TT I have yet to see EGTs above 1200, loaded, summer heat and about speed limit and up New Mexico Rocky Mountains. So far so good. I give it a 2 thumbs up.

Their site says they are CI-4+ certified (15W-40) so I don't know why it wouldn't be a good fit.

http://www.royalpurple.com/prodsa/rpmoa.html

I personally have never heard of a bad experience with RP.

Availability / cost would be the only issue for some like me when I can get a 5 Qt bottle of Mobil 1 Truck and SUV @ Walmart for $ 20.00

I don't think this one will be a problem!! Royal Purple IS NOT a MLM company, therefore they don't brainwash people. ALL their products are API certified, their website isn't full of lies & deceit, and most of all, Royal Purple is a FTE Sponsor!!

Thanks,

I'm impressed with Royal Purple oil.
I ran the smackdown on my 03 Cobra and it always drained clean and smooth.
....will definitely use it in my next new car.
