Proper alignment helps too.

Shocks are a very important part of the suspension, probably more so then most believe. I remember awhile back Motor Trend did a test on an SUV in the snow. They had two identical models, one with new shocks and one with worn shocks, and went through a snowy course. The one with bad shocks was much more difficult to control and the guy actually lost it and went off the course.

I had alot of play in my steer'n and the rubber bushing on the end of the steer'n shaft was just worn out. I put a borgsen shaft on and it took alot of the play out but does transfer more vibration. not alot to me but you can feel it.

Which end of the steering shaft? Towards the steering box or the other side?

I recently replaced the steering box on mine, and though it did tighten up a little, the telescoping shaft is where most of the play is. I've got a 3" body lift on my truck, which extended the shaft a little. If you look where the two pieces of the shaft meet, I could move mine back and forth about 1/2 inch. This was the play on my truck anyway...
