evap leak p0455

scanner called out evap leak p0455. bought new gas cap. still get check engine light after a week or so. wondering if anyone else had similiar problem. 1998 mazda b2500 2.5 liter. thanks

el conquistador, many thanks. i will check out all possibilities on that page. that new gas cap is an after market type.

i just had the same problem smelling gas found the screw cap on the top of the gas tank was broken. mine was on a 1998 ranger thou 5 $ for it at the junk yard
