Mine was my first car. A 1981 mustang coupe. It was too easy. I had a buddy that used to help me fix it and when I got into MY 2nd accident, 3rd for the car, in one month the parents said it had to go. I sold it for $900 and my buddy ended up hitting two elder ladies crossing illegally on a blind intersection. They died but he was cleared of any wrong doing. The car was jinxed and has been sitting since the accident, almost 13 years now. He offered to sell it back to me for 300. I said no. That car was evil!

Well, it wasn't my car but my folks. A '71 Mercedes 250C. My dad put an ad in the paper for the car, asking 5500. The first call he got was from a local doctor who asked him to bring it by the house so he could look at it. My dad knocks on the door and the doctor opens it, standing there in his bathrobe, looks out past my dad at the Mercedes parked by the curb and says,

"Yeah, that's the one I want,"

and hands my dad 500 bucks cash and askes him to drop it off at his office the next day. I go with my dad to give him a ride home and as the doctor opens his briefcase to get out the money, a gun falls to the floor. He mumbles an apology and picks it up, stuffing it back into the briefcase and then hands my dad 5 grand in 100s. Yeah, I'd have to say that was an easy sale! -TD

my easiest car sale is a tie. put a 70 mustang grande coupe and a 77 nova on ebay for $1500 each. less than 5 min into the sale, both sold buy it now without a call or question. nova drove off on a 5 hour ride to maryland the next day at 11 am, and at 12 the mustang was loaded on the trailer for the 8 hour ride to albany ny.
i used to get offers on the 7 litre every time i took it out, or left it in the driveway. always gave a price of $30,000. last time the guy said let me think about it. i think i have to raise the price.

I had a '93 Eagle Summit that I owed $2450 on. I put it in the paper for $2400, knowing it was worth maybe $1500. I think I had lowered the price in the paper after a week, but the $2400 was still on it here. Some guy came by and test drove it (I wasn't home, wife was), came back next day with $2400 cash and took it. The hardest part was getting the title from the bank after we paid it off. Finally I called them, and the guy at the bank had the nerve to say (in a snotty tone), "Well, what do you need the title for?" My reply, "Uhhh...because it's paid off, and we already sold the car.

I once paid 200 bucks for a '63 Karmann Ghia. Did some body work on the nose, drove it for several months without doing much else to it. I yanked the motor out (1200cc 40 horse) planning to replace it with a Porsche engine. Sold the motor to my boss for 200 bucks, then some kids came along and offered me 500 bucks for the car, as is with no motor. What the heck, I went for it. -TD

had to be the old aerostar. I went and parked the thing down on this lot, got out, and a lady looking at other mini vans saw ours with 800 bucks on it, and she said hey, I'll take it. The old aerostar... 1992 w/ 311,000 miles. And still goin. We didn't have to put the paper in the window when I got there! She just saw me drive up and that was good enough for her.

I was about to move into a new house and was going to need a truck. I saw a '53 Chebbie with a for sale sign, called the guy and bought it for $500. I used the truck to move that weekend, sold the truck the following week for $600.
