oil in the crankcase breather
i recently changed my crankcase breather filter and cleaned the pipe-thingy that connects the crankcase breather filter to the crankcase. yesterday i checked, and sure enough there was oil on both ends of the pipe (didn't actually check the filter-too tired). should this be happening? should i be concerned? why or why not? what should i do about it? thanks alot

You probably have high mileage on this engine which would indicate worn rings causing higher crankcase pressures, thus forcing oil vapors into the breather pipe which condense back into liquid oil once the engine cools a bit. The main thing you can do is change the PCV valve and check the hoses to it for clogging from carbon build up. If you are not using a lot of oil and the plugs do not foul you can rest easy about a little oil at the crankcase breather.
