i almost completed my Private certification. just had a few hours and a check ride. had a change of heart and didn't want to spend any more of dads money. there was too many regulations and processes for my kind of personality. i'm too laid back to do that kind of thing. loved it while it lasted though. Texas is beautiful out the left window of a Cessna 172.

Anyone take a video camera along in the cockpit? I would love to see a video of all that goes on in the cockpit on a flight, even if its just clouds or the view. I love aircraft. I would pay for it.

hey BossHoss, theres a thing you can do and pay a small fee and a insturctor will take you up for an "introductory" flight for like half an hour or so. i can't remeber what it was called, but if you have an airport near you with training facilities, they should have more info. i'm assuming its good over teh whole US not jsut texas...

Priviate, Airplane Single Engine Land. I have only about 200 hours logged, mostly Cessna 152's, in the last six years. I did take one intro helicopter lesson.

My next goal is to build my own airplane, probably a Sonex.

It's great to see so many private/commercial pilots on this site. I fly for Trans States out of St. Louis. EMB 145. Just moved over from the very loud Jetstream 41.

Ultramagdan (sp?) are you still flying? I know we spoke about it in the past.

Funny (and obviously pre-9/11) pilot story:

Howie Mandell is on a flight with a friend, when he notices that they left the cockpit door open, and both pilot and co-pilot's hat and coat are hanging on the door. When all the flight attendants are distracted, he grabs the coats and hats, hands a set to his friend and tells him, "put these on- just follow me and play along." He walks down the aisle of the plane, gets to the midpoint and turns around. He shouts at his friend: "but I thought YOU were flying!!!"
