Need Professional Assistance (Ford Dealer or Independant)
Hi,
I have yet to find whatever issue (vacuum leak, fuel delivery problem, sensor or emission system problem) that is causing my issue (terrible low rpm accelleration, absimal fuel mileage for the setup of the truck). So I figure I should probably take it to a profession of whom I hope would use the proper method of diagnosing this problem exactly. I figured my next step would be to test fuel pressure, compression and vacuum pressure to see if all are proper, but I don't have the tools and they are expensive. I still haven't even found the schrader valve, so I wouldn't even know how to use the fuel pressure gauge.
Can anyone recommend a dealership or a private shop that would be well suited to diagnose this type of problem on an 1996 F-150 with the I-6, preferrably the mechanics would have to speak english.

Yeah, I have an OBD-2 code reader I forgot to specify that I get bank 1 and 2 lean codes. There are 25892835235 things that could cause lean codes in vehicles, from what I've read
Instead of chasing the problem, of which could takes years and unlimited amounts of money (I've already thrown new O2 sensors at it, cleaned the MAF, etc), I hope I can find an honest and intelligent mechanic that can diagnose it. I hear lots of horror stories of yuppies with a CEL (lean codes) getting quickly talked into replacing o2 sensors and catalytic converters, which end up not solving the problem.
