Hi All

I am considering putting a Raptor performance muffler on my 1995 F150 for a more beefed up sound. Any opinions? Godd idea? or a waste of money?

Well, i can tell you on my truck when I first put it on there wasnt that much of a sound increase. Then I addded a 3x12" tip and cut off the secont cat, that made it louder. Now, it sounds pretty nice ad idle and when I get on it, boy it gets loud!! Not a loud as other trucks round here, but it has a nice rumlbe to it. Good cheap muffler, mine has held up great to the elements. If you want it loud fast just straight pipe it!

 

If you have dual in-line cats they will not help the sound much at all. From what I've read you can cut the muffler off completely and still be relatively quite. If you can go for a cat back system with a hi-flow cat into a 2.5 inch exhaust. Muffler will now have an effect. Many have suggested the flowmaster series (the 40 i beleive) as sounding very nice
