Are there sealed beams on the market the size of the stock plastic covers on the 1988 style F250's - mine are all fogged - and I notice others with the same style are fogged as well. I like the look - but not fogged plastic. I would like to
keep the same look with same grill - but change it to sealed beams.
Anyone out there ever did this? How do I go about it?
Thank you - I appreciate it.
i know you can find repacements for them from LMCTRUCK.COM, i've got an 87 f-250, cant find any headlights for it other thatn stock, so thats what i did.
No they use a bulb. And the bulb fits in the plastic 'headlight'. Much like a Mustang. They make some products that are supposed to remove the cloudyness from the lenses but not sure how good they work. Do a search on it here and you should find something on it.
Ok - but thats not what I'm looking for. I wanted to see if there is a sealed beam out there - possibly from the big rigs - or big SUV's that are the same size as the plastic lenses. I want to eliminate the plastic lenses all together.
You see now?
ya, but they dont make them, thats the problem, you MIGHT be able to find oune from and older kenworth, or peterbilt, i actually work for my uncle and he owns a freight company, i cuold look into it.
Thats the trucks I had in mind - I have a friend that works on them as well.
Volvo also came out with those plastic lenses back in the eighties - never liked the look when they switched them either.
i was thinkin about it, and i dont know why you would look into a sealed beam they are more expensive to replace, and IF you do find one, you've already had trouble thus far, and if you break one, or a bulb burns out, you ould have to do this all over again, just a thought though.
Well, first its the look, and thats all it is for me.
Once I find out which part number or what truck or SUV uses it - that problem is solved.
How often does a sealed beam burn or break?
Its just me - I like the look better - I'll probably leave it alone.
