Thanks man. I'm just debating whether cleaning and oiling filters is worth the extra power that I may not even notice. Right now my gut instinct tells me that it's not, but that could have something to do with the price tag and $$ signs going through my head. I'm also thinking along the lines of those websites where tests were run and the difference between cloth and paper for flow were nominal at best. Paper lets less dirt in anyway. I'm definitely leaning towards the MIT. Can anyone argue that I should go for the full intake?

Ive posted it three times in the past month or so, with seemingly no reaction from anyone in the forum. If you care to read it, it can be found here:

Ford has spent a lot of time and money designing their intakes, so to think that you HAVE to change them, is silliness. From the factory, the intakes have a good flow path to the throttle body, as well as already pull cold air from the fender. With the addition of a good flowing medium, as well as thermally insulating the incoming air charge from the ambient engine temperature, and you have a surefire solution. Don't forget to take note about the % increase in power (inverse to incoming air charge temperature). But thats just my two cents...

WheelMA1 - I have read Project MPG and used a drop-in K&N and thermal insulated pipes on my 1990 F250 4x4 351w. I noticed no increase in power whatsoever, but my gas mileage did improve by 1 mpg. I am interested in full intake kits because I want performance gains with my new truck - it gets good enough mpg (for me ) as it is.
Scottb1014, I am particularly interested in the Volant because it is a TRUE cold air intake, and pulls cold air from the stock location into an ENCLOSED filter unexposed to engine heat. What kind of performance gains have you had with the Volant? How hard is it to install? Finally, can you really "feel" the difference?
