Question Popuphitch RV5 10" Extended King Pin

Has anyone seen or had experience w/ this.

http://www.popuphitch.com/rv5.htm

I have a Reese 20k but don't have enough clearance w/ my new camper. I was going to get a slider hitch, but saw one of these at the Jayco dealership. They've just started carrying them and have only installed 2 so far. But they seem to like the product.

It looks like an intersting idea. The issue I see with it is that it puts additional leverage on the pin-box. I would contact the pin-box or trailer manufacturer and ask about using it on your trailer first.

I checked w/ Jayco and they did not recommend it. I ended up getting a slider hitch and put it in the other day. I feel a little more comfortable w/ that. I didn't want to be the guinea pig w/ something that big and potentially dangerous.

I was looking at that extender as well and was wondering about the strain on the trailer. It looks like a well built product. I was wondering if they have any info regarding liability if something were to happen?

I had emailed Jayco and asked if they offered a extended pin box for my camper, and they didn't. I don't remeber their exact words, but it led me to believe if something happened due to the extended pin box, that I was out of luck.

When I was searching around, I saw a lot of responses that said it would add a lot of additional stress on the frame and most people were shying away from it.

I held one and it is definitely a sturdy product, but I was afraid of it since I couldn't find anyone actually using one. The problem if something were to happen to the frame, is proving that their part caused the damage(if it actually did), and getting them to cover it.

When towing something that heavy and carrying the family, I didn't want to take any chances, so I got a slider.
