Let's get a 300 on TV
All,
In watching the Xtreme 4x4 and Trucks! programs on SPike, and hearing Stacy David talk about what viewers want to see, it occured to me that we may acually be able to get them to do a 300 build on the show, as opposed to just throwing it away like he did with his bobtail buildup.
I've already sent them an email asking for a 300 project, but will send another. Follow this link to the contact page for Trucks! (http://www.truckstv.com/contact.aspx). They have an email address on that page that we can mail to.

I sent one, here's a copy:
Let's keep our fingers crossed!
The Ford 300 (4.9L) is a torque beast, capable of out torquing any small block V8, due to the inherent strengths of the inline design, and it's long stroke. It would be a perfect candidate for a build up, as opposed todoing the cookie cutter V8 swap. Just a thought, but I think it would be a unique build up that would set Trucks! apart from the other buildup shows. By the way, you guys are the best automotive themed show on, bar none. I respect the fact that Stacey does the work and gets his hands dirty, unlike the poseurs at Horsepower TV. Keep up the excelent work, and thow some respect in the 300's direction, as it's a beast with serious potential, and is great for a truck.

Oscar, Stacey's actually from Idaho.
Some of his engine choices do seem kinda cool. Even though it's a chevy, the 572 he put in his low rider was neat, of course, a stroked 460 dropped into a 68-71 F-100 would be a pretty slick project too. I thought the 360 in the *****'s Wagon was cool, because it was different.
I'll try asking Jessi if she hears any 300 talk around the shop (she's from the Black Hills too). Keep sending them email though, it looks like their starting work on their summer season stuff now.

TV shows are just like anything else, they're gonna do what it takes to make money. If one or two of us a year asks for a 300 build they probably won't do it. However, when they get a hundred emails asking for it, they begin to realize that we want to see that. The more of us they can keep watching, the more Jegs wants to keep advertising on the show. I read somewhere that TV (and other media outlets) use a multiplier for viewer comments (example, for every one of us that writes, they figure there's another 6 guys that don't), so this can only help let them know that we're here.

STick1,
You may want to do a search over at the TRS boards about the 300 Ranger project. I read an thread over there about a guys who put one in a B2, it turned into more than he bargained for. He ended up with a pretty good amount of body lift, and still had to cut and rebuild the firewall and floor to adapt the engine and tranny.
