How do you replace the differential

I got a used LSD off ebay and i am going to install it this weekend. does anyone have a write up on how you do it. I know the axles have to come out and such but i never did one before and dont want to screw it up

If you've never done one, you should probably have it done. I looked into it and studied the process, and it's pretty confusing. There are special tools you'll need etc, etc...

I agree, the only way I know how to do it would be with a check book or credit card.

i don't know how to do the job myself..but if i was you,i would try to find someone that knows how to do it and WATCH them or let them coach you through it...because if you pay for it to be done by someone else,you're never gonna learn how to do it..just my 2 cents..

Well, I know off hand you'll need about 4 jack stands or a lift, a bunch of different socket heads and ratchet (don't know what size), some kind of tap hammer or something, a chizzel thingy, you may need a pinion depth tool (though I don't think you will if you're just doing the LSD), gear oil, some Ford friction modifier, and probably a handful of other tools, and a REALLY GOOD how-to.
