Unhappy 98 5.4L Triton -Sparkplug Blowout

Spark plug Blowout problem while on the 405 near Long Beach CA. Had van towed to Ford Dealer then towed again to my home 130 miles to San Diego. Ford quote at a starting expense of $3500 just seemed extreme for an old 98 van. Surely there is a functional method of putting this otherwise good car back on the road. Any ideas?? Expense??? thanks Mon Feb 14 2005--Happy Valentine's...

Welcome to FTE!!

Sorry that your problem has brought you here.

You may want to check this forum out for other topics just like this one. Alot of times people use a insert instead of a complete head overhaul. Hopefully someone will swing in with some of the popular insert names, as I can't remember off hand.

Thanks for the info. I will search for a mechanic
for this job here in the San Diego CA area.
