Temp Range For E4OD

I am going to add a transmission temp gauge to my van with E4OD transmission. The gauges are available with various tempruture ranges, ie, 100-250 deg, 140 -280 deg, 140-320 deg and so on.

The gauge with the 100-250 deg range suits my needs otherwise if this range covers the range of the transmission.

Can anyone tell me what the normal operating temp range is for this transmission including towing duty?

Thanks,

Gene

100-250 temp gauge should be just fine. keep your temps between 160 and 200 deg. F on the dial.

What about a C6? I do alot of bobcat towing in the summer and i put an extra 2 qt pan+plus a trans cooler for a 32,000 lb vehicle on there to keep things nice and cool when under heavy loads.

Same thing. keep it between 160-200 deg F. with that kind of cooling on your C6 it'll last for ever.
