G'day, all. I'm trying to work out which Australian models correspond to which US models. I've heard that we 'only got the Heavy Duty F100s', and also that 'what we call F100s are F150s in the States'. Here's a brief (and possibly faulty...) history of F-trucks in Australia.
Ford Australia only brought in what they called 2WD F100s from the mid 50s to the late 60s. From about 68 or 69 we also got 4WD F250s (leaf sprung, D44 front), until the first 4WD F100s in late 77. These had coil front suspension, 302 V8s and came in 117 or 133 inch wheelbases. Chassis thickness on the 4X4 was heavier, which made it the same as the old F250. I'm fairly sure they dropped the F250 from 77 to 81. 1980s F100s 250s 350s and Broncos had that dopey Ford independent front end, and in the late 80's Ford dropped the F100 badge and sold us the F150s with the longer wheelbase and a horrible fuel injected 302. As far as I know all the F100s we got had 5 on 5 1/2 stud patterns. We now get F250s and F350s, Superduty only.
F100s are rated here nominally as 1 ton payload vehicles, and F250s are 2 ton.

What other information do you need, to work out which American models our Australian vehicles are? I may need to import some bits and pieces from the US to build up a D60 front for a 7/77 F100 and I want to be sure (well, sure-ish) that it's compatible.
