STEP BARS-RECTANGULAR Question?

NEW Member Step Bars Question?
<HR style="COLOR: #666666" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Hi Everyone,

My name is Adrian, and this is my first thread. I was wondering if one of you guys could help me. I own a 2004 f150 regular cab xlt. When I purchased my truck I did not buy the step bars, and I happen to like the flat step bars that ford came up with. I went to the dealership, and their price is outrageous, they sell each step bar at 360.00, that's for each one. I tried searching the web and all I could find were the tubular kind, I really dont like the tubular style step bar, and would like the flat rectangular black ones, like the factory type. If I have no choice I guess I will have to buy the ones at the dealership, hopefully you guys can give me some feedback on this. Thank you all.

Did you get the OEM Ford part on Ebay, or one of the 3rd party brands.

Anyone know who sells the OEM Step bar for the most reasonable price? My local dealer must be loco for the amount of money he wants for them.

Cheers.

I think it's Westin that makes a big tube with the flat steps. It's chrome and looks really good. I seen these at the RV place in town. Was hoping my polished alum. tubes would fall off, cause I would get these on my truck in a heartbeat.

For that matter, I wonder about the terminology here.
When going to order/build my truck from factory, the web site
calls out something called "tubular running boards" (both chrome
and black), while vehicle window stickers list something
called "black cab steps".

I am assuming that "cab steps" and "running boards" are the same
thing. But, is this correct?

When I purchased my truck I had the dealer install the factory bars and it was $360 installed for the black version.
