You will need to set up a good fuel system that will feed your engine, an ignition system that will work with a turbo setup, and a carb box if you have a carb. You can buy the turbos off ebay, or find a ricer shop and they will sell you them. Find used ones in the junkyard. Pull off your manifolds to check if they will go on upside down. Also, you will need to tap into a pressure oil hole in the block to run oil to your turbo. That's a start, read up on turbos at the library or on this site. Search the internet too.

For the ignition system, get an MSD box, one of the higher end ones, that lets you adjust the timing.

Turbo sizing is important too. You need two from a turbo T-bird for a 302.

You also need to have a method of increasing your fuel pressure 1 psi, for every 1 pound of boost. What you want to do isn't for the beginner. Many have fried their engine, and trial and error is a very expensive way of attempting to do this. You also need to set up a timing retard system, that backs off timing as boost increases. There are special floats that you need in your carb, and many other things are a must. Flipping the stock manifolds is a waste of time, as many have already told you. Please do what has been suggested. Buy a book, do your own searches on the internet, and save up some cash. You're going to need it.

That's a harsh way of putting it Steve, but every bit of it's true.
I guess that's why you don't see many of them done ...

Sorry. I wasn't trying to be harsh. I was just trying to get the point across, since he's been asking the same question more then once, and getting the same answers. If a person has to ask those types of questions about how to do it, then they really shouldn't, until they can answer those questions themselves. It's very hard to mix a turbo with a carb, and without burning holes in your pistons. It's best if the engine is built for use with a turbo, with forged dished pistons, and the right cam. Low compression is key, as is perfect control of fuel and timing. I would rather sound harsh then not, and have a person mess up their engine.

Hey, go for it. Turbos are the best power adder out there. They,ve got a bad rep with some people because too often they've been slapped on worn out engines that couldn't handle the power, or just weren't tuned right. By pumping all that extra air and fuel you greatly increase the power produced and the heat and stress along with it! For every guy that slapped on a poorly sized turbo, leaned out the A/F ratio, and detonated his engine to death, there's someone who put together a well balanced and properly tuned SYSTEM that worked great. There are alot of twin and single turbo mustangs out there. Check out turbomustangs website for a start.
