Smoke from oil fill tube

I just finished an engine swap for the 93 F-150. It is now running, but there seems to be quite a bit of smoke coming from the oil fill tube when it is off. What could be causing this? It was a 302 from a Tbird that I put in the truck.

i just bought an 82 f-100 with a 302 also...and there was smoke coming from the oil fill tube also...try doing a compression test, you could be getting excessive blowby. i did a compression test on mine and only had 2lbs on #7 cylinder. So im guessin thats my problem. I should have the heads off this week to have a look.

You are getting blow-by, do a compression test to see if all cylinders are good, also check your PCV valve to make sure its not clogged.

Another thought....

When I did the swap, I used the valve covers form the Truck. THe valve covers on the donor engine had the fill tube on the passengers side, and PCV on drivers side. THe valve covers I used were the opposite. Should that matter?? New pcv valve, but I will check and make sure it is not clogged. I hope it is not a bad cylinder.

I have seen some guys do this the motor will run but rough and create alot of blowby. Kinda like if you have the timing way retarded or the plug wires on wrong on a few causes the same thing.
