'64 Ranchero front-end swap ?

Has anyone on here had any experience with changing the front-end assembly over to a Pinto-style front end? Mine has had some 'butchering' in the area where the eccentric washer (camber adjustment) is on the lower control arm. It is hard to get an alignment to stay. I was thinking that a Pinto-style might be the easiest fix.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have a '64 w/ a '65 289 and factory 4-speed. Getting about time to get to work making a street rod out of it.

I haven't done it, but you might get more information on one the early Mustang forums, Vintage Mustang Forum or Mr. F's classic Ford forum. The Falcons are just early Mustangs. I also have a 64 Ranchero.. and a 66 Mustang... and a 68 Mustang...and a 93 Mustang. Tried to paste url's, but it wouldn't let me.

What about getting control arm assembly from another 64 falcon with a v8. Can you not interchange this and have the eccentric washer problems fixed that way.

Exclamation

Hi, Im' new to this page. I'm usually talking about diesels these days. If you are thinking of making a street rod out of your '64, how about an econoline straight axle? Check out the latest Hot Rod mag. There is a big section on retro "Gassers". Straight axle'41 ******, novas, Mopar 440s, etc. They are going to do a '63 ranchero straight axle project car soon. I love that old style look, even though it cuts up an original car. When I was in HS looong ago, I fabbed up a '63 Ranchero straight axle. Lots of fun and memories. Had a '63 Sedan delivery in '83. sold it. DUMB. Have fun and good luck. The Straight axle is not hard to do, by the way!!!!! Got a 427 SOHC for it ?

I Recently Bought a 63 Falcon and have been checking out this Ford web site ([http://www.fordmuscle.com/phpBB/]) for info. I have seen a lot of discussion on Falcon/Mustang front end comparisons. I bought the Falcon with the idea of putting a gasser straight axle from Speedway Motors under it.

Thanks for the interesting replies. As it happens, I have that copy of Hot Rod. I'll check it out.

Thanks again-
