I have a 1985 f 150 4x4. I swapped my 300 6 cylinder for a 302. Now when I drive at night my head lights flicker. How important is the ground wire from the firewall to the motor. Or could this be my problem.

make sure the switch & the lights themselves are grounded well and that there are no loose wires.
maybe that wire from the firewall to the block has something to do with it
