Well pricewise you can't beat a body lift. However, I wouldn't recommend one. It really depends on what you're looking for, whether you can accept shortcuts which may come back to haunt you. Also, how hard would you be on this lift. You have to give more information then that =).

Why not save yourself 12 hours of nightmarish work and just do a 4" suspension lift since you're already tearing into it?

I wouldnt mind lifting the truck four inches but I figgured it would be cheaper on me to go with a shorter lift. Also Im not really a fan of bodylift kits, just wanted to know the most economical option. I also thought that the shorter the lift the less wear on parts it will have like u joints and tha like. I mainly want a short lift for increased flex. I dont intend on flogging the truck nor busting by adding a crappy lift kit. I mostly use the truck for a daily driver.

One thing to keep in mind is more lift does not always equal more flex. Often times you get the exact opposite because a lot of lift springs tend to be stiffer than stock springs. My suggestion would be to do some research in the offroad forum on "shackle flip" for 4" of lift in the back that will provide excellent flex. You'll still need a spring kit for the front but a shackle flip in the back will save a lot of $$ and give you better flex.

Body lifts in themselves aren't very expensive but there's a lot of little details which need to be attended to that will eat up $$ and time. 4" of suspension lift is not going to cause any more notable wear on parts than a 3" lift.
