I just bought this great truck for $2500.
It's in perfect shape & everything works, runs great.
It has after market garret turbo with wastegate.
Is it banks???

looking at vehicle certificate label on door axle 39.
is 3 the rear axle and 9 the front axle?
dana 60 or 70?
where are the code specs for this vehicle? on line?
need info.

Axle code 39 is a Ford 10.25 full floater with 3.55 gears and an open diff(That's what my truck has, and what the owners manual states.) The front axle, is without question, a D50 TTB. 460 or diesel means F250 HD, which means F350 chassis

I was wondering there... My 86 shop manual lists the only "Ford" rear axles as 3750# (8.8" and 9"). The rest, is says, are Danas. That has to be wrong, I know the 10.25" was available, like Evan said. I don't know if they even still used the Dana 60 rear in 86.

Weird... My Ford shop manuals are 84, so, they don't list anything about the 10.25, because it wasn't avalable yet. But, my 86 Owners manual lists both Ford and Dana Axles with 6250# capacity, a Dana with 6300#, one with 7400, and both Ford and Dana with 8200 lb(dually I'd assume)capicity and a 3.55 geared LS Ford axle with 8250 lb capicity(most likley a dually 10.25) Axle code 39 is a 6250# capicity Ford(10.25) with 3.55 gears and an open diff.
These trucks were avalable with the D60 70 and 80, so, I'm suprised that the highest capicity axle is a Ford, as the 80 is one mighty beefy axle.

Here's the ones listed in the 86 shop manual (different ratios for each):
Ford: 3750 lb.
Dana: 5300, 7400, 8250, over 8500 lb.

Although, this wouldn't be the first Ford publication I've found errors in.
