the guns you just wont get rid of ??

going through my toy collection tonight, a few guns i havent even picked up in so long...

1974 winchester modle 94 lever action. MINT condition. bought by a friend in 1974, shot 20 rounds, put in gun safe til 2000, when i bought it from him. ive fired it on 3-5 occasions since. i refuse to get rid of it, even though ive replaced it as my deer rifle with a new ruger 7mm. just because the condition of it is so good, and the age of it, i cant part with it.

H&K USP expert.45 - picked it up out of the gun safe tonight, had it for about 5-6 years now. it feels soooo bulky and combersome compared to my favored Glock modle 17 9mm, which fits my hand sooo well. i dont think ive shot the .45 more than 10-12 occasions. but, it is a handgun and i dont believe in getting rid of a handgun unless its faulty. a least favorite handgun is better than no handgun when the "poop hits the fan"

so, what guns do you have, which you havent even whiped the dust off for years, but you just cant part with for whatever reason ? daddy gave it to you, you picked it up in WWII off a german officer, its unregistered, or maybe the gun saved your life, or bagged the biggest deer ?

Mossberg 22lr doesn't even chamber the rounds right unless you hand feed each round in by hand (part of the bolt is bad so doesn't catch the round correctly from the mag.), but my dad gave it to me when I turned 15, and my grandfather gave it to him when he turned 15, I should have given it to my son when he turned 15, but didn't because of hte above mentioned problem although I have another one like it I may try swapping the bolts, and go ahead and give it to him other than that I will never get rid of it.

I will probably never part with any of mine. Why, what did they actually cost and what would I get out of them. I have a few collector guns and a few real old ones that I have no desire to ever get rid of, other than that the rest are the ones I actually use alot, too many memories in each one to part with.

i'm the same! will not part with any of them, every one has some sort of memory ie boy scouts, family airloom, or one i just plain like because it still looks good like a original 45 hawkins or a trap door spenser

My dad was a gun and dog trader. I used a million guns he had around the house.

For Christmas 1973 he bought me a Brand new 870 410.
First and only new gun I ever remember us having in my dad's house.

Still got it along with 16 other shotguns, a few of them new but mostly used.

Couple of black powder home builts, a .32 flint Penn. long rifle, & .50 Kentucky long rifle in percussion. (not kits, except for the barrels and locks which I did buy) and a .22 Remington Viper semi-auto that works great and does the job keeping the critters out of the chicken coop.

Mine would be my old Winchester 94 made in 1951 that my grandfather bought, and has been passed down to me.It's kind of a pain to load and unload, but it's the first rifle I used when I started hunting. It doesn't have any great monetary value, but I don't think I would ever part with it.

quick story- a guy ive hunted with was using a 1897 Winchester lever action 25-35 caliber, bought by his friends great grandfather for $12.00 brand new back in 1897, thing still shoots amazing and took a doe the year i hunted with the guy. you can tell of course though that the thing is an antique due to the rubbed on finish on the metal and the wood. but i think its great the gun still works good.

I'll never get rid of any of my guns.

However, the Winchester 1887 lever-action 10ga that my grandfather left me is the most important in my collection.

I won't sell(any more).
What I got out of guns through previous sales never justified the loss of owning the particular firearm.
