Nasty Antifreeze

I Added Antifreeze To My Truck Yesterday The Antifreeze That Was In The Truck Was Brown And That Has Me Alittle Scared. Is It Oil Coming In From Somewhere Or Poorly Mantaned? The Truck Was Never Taken Care Of Except For An Oil Change Every Now And Then But Nothing Else It Has 130000 Miles. Ofcourse I Will Be Doing A Flush. Jay

Is your truck new enough that it came with the yellow coolant originally? Ford issued a bulletin to remind dealers that the yellow stuff can turn brown over time with the addition of stop-leak stuff...and mentioned that the factory frequently throws a little of that in there for good measure! (I read an article one time where a Bar's Leaks rep was bragging about their contract with Ford...)

SO.... brown coolant is a normal sight; unless you see some other reason for it, it's probably OK.

i would flush the coolant system and and relace with new. 130k is alot of miles for coolant. also should change all the fluid and grease everything up.

I agree with the flush. Alot the times have seen where rust in cooling system will cause the anti-freeze to turn brown.
