EGR tube- California emissions??? WTH
Ok, ordered an EGR tube for 96 / 351 ... from a dealer ( I know) it came today I'm ready to put on and now I was told- by a Ford tech- that it's not the correct one. I need the EGR tube that meets CA emissions? What am I not understanding here? I live in FLA, we do not require yearly emissions testing. stickers, decals, etc.

In 96 ford went to OBDII and I think that is (might be) what he is refering (calf emission, and maybe it was actually bought there). A 95 with calf- mass emissions is very differant than my 95 eec iv , non mass air 5.8.( too many details to go into)My 95 egr tube goes from front of right exhaust manifold up to bottom of egr valve, a 96 is simalar except it has two small metal tubes in the middle that two hoses attach to that go to the pressure feedback sensor(obdII). Have your Ford tech run your serial # and get your printout on recalls- build date- calibration( will tell you if it is calf. emis. or not) also thier parts dept CAN run your serial # and see what tube actually came on your Bronco when it was new(5 or 6 pages)lots of part #s - very interesting reading.HELPS TO KNOW YOUR FORD PARTS MAN!!!! and he is in a good mood that day!!!! Been at my dealership- in service since 77- I know this is TRUE INFORMATION- hope this helps and MERRY CHRISTMAS
