Heater Core Gurgle

Heater Core Gurgle
So a few weeks ago I drained the coolant, replaced the stat and cap.
A gurggling sound started coming from the heater core area.
Then I noticed a small leak from the firewall area when changing the oil.
The leak is only present when the system is under pressure.
Very little heat from the heater.
Is this a classic case of bad heater core?
How can I tell if its just a blocked heater core, or a bad core?
Is there a quick fix to try before just replacing the core?
Thanks

If your seeing a leak your heater core is probably bad. You can check it for blockage by disconnecting the hoses and running water thru it with a hose or using air. If it is a small leak some coarse groung black pepper in the radiator will find the hole and stop it up but thats just a temporary fix. Best thing to do if its leaking is to bite the bullit and replace it. Hope that helps and good luck, Carl.
