FMX -> C6

I have replaced my FMX with a C6.
Can I use my original drive shaft slip yoke in the new C6?

I can get the yoke on the output shaft with no problem,
but I can only get it on about an inch, where it looks like it is hitting the bushing in the trans. It seems like the yoke is too big for the bushing.

Is the yoke for a FMX really bigger than a yoke for a C6??

We just did this on my brothers car. I believe we used the original yoke that fit his FMX. We did have a problem getting it into the C6 at first. We had to clean the outside of the yoke because it had built a layer of surface rust on it. Don't know if this is your problem, but its a cheap idea to look into.

OK...the yoke does fit.
It was just at a very slight angle and woundn't go in the bushing.

Next question: at normal ride heigth, the slip yoke has 5/8 inch freeplay.
With the rear end off the ground, it has 1/4 inch freeplay.

Is this ok? Seems like it is cutting it close to me.

Thanks.
