Wink oil filter

Just got a high flow spin-on oil filter (external) . Can anyone help with pressure and return line connections, also does location matter, meaning higher or lower in relation to the motor. (239 Canadian flatty) Thanks for any info

I hate to burst your bubble, but you can't just add a high flow oil filter to a flathead. The original filter was an advertising ploy, at best. It is what's known as a bypass filter. Basically, a very small amount of oil is allowed to go into the filter through a restricted fitting. If this hole is enlarged, the loss of oil pressure would be enough to destroy the engine. The best thing you can do is take the filter off altogether, and change your oil more often. You will see a slight increase in oil pressure.
To install a full flow oil filter, a hole has to be drilled into the oil galley at the rear of the block for a return. In addition, a plug must be installed inside the original port to divide the passages.
