Aluminum Driveshafts?? And lower gears....

Does anyone make an aluminum driveshaft for our trucks? I want to do either 4.10s or 4.56s but I don't want to increase the already slight vibe that I contribute to the driveshaft. A quality built, well balanced aluminum driveshaft that weighs 1/2 as much as stock would be a nice upgrade.

Also, does anyone know if any company makes 4.30 gears for our trucks? The 4.56 is a tad tall for stock tires, and the 4.10 will be a very minimal change for a $1000+ investment (4WD).

Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, the stock driveshaft is aluminum.

That's what I'm thinking, so does my 2002. Unless Ford went back to steel driveshafts as a cost cuting measure.

hrm steel! ours are all rusty! as far as gears i cant say much cause you do have the larger rear-end, but if you had the 4.6 we got the 8.8 and FRPP has gears!

Well, the 9.75 rear has almost the same gear selection as the 8.8, the problem is the front diff on 4WD models. It's a reverse rotation 8.8. I found 4.30s for the 9.75, but only 4.10 and 4.56s for the reverse rotation 8.8.

I never knew the older F150s had aluminum driveshafts. That sucks! On a mustang, the stock driveshaft is nearly 2 times heavier than the Ford Racing aluminum, which happens to be .5" larger.

It only seems logical that having an aluminum driveshaft would make a very noticable difference in get-up. I would be interested in having one if the price is right.
