Go with a viper system, this is my third on a diffrent vehicle and swear by them. They might be a little expensive but well worth the money. I suggest the two way system.

Ford Gold Alarm System (AKA CodeAlarm)

I had the ford Gold Series for 04 F-150 Installed:

Ford Gold Series Remote Start, PowerCode Remote Start, Remote Keyless Entry & Vehicle Security System

Part Number: 2W7Z19G364AA
Category: Remote Start Systems

Remote Start Systems - Remote Start Systems PowerCode Remote Start, Remote Keyless Entry & Vehicle Security.

PATS Interface
Part Number: 1L2Z19G365AB
Category: Remote Start Systems

Remote Start Systems - Remote Start Systems Securilock Kit 3 Securilock Interface Kit #3, Required For Remote Start Systems

YL3Z19G390AA (Need Two) Relays

1- Relay for Remote Headlight Activiation (According to Ford Alarms this is the only way that stock headlight illumination will still work once Security System is installed.

2- Relay for Driver Door Priority (First click only unlocks driver door) stock, will not work once alarm is installed without this relay according to Ford Alarms folks.

2 Extra Wires for Remote Memory Seat

Hope this helps!

^^ Dave, how much did it cost you? And is there a link online somewhere where you can look at the various Ford systems?

Cost... Lets see.... I think I got a little ripped off, but with what I paid for the rest, I think it worked out.... We paid 599.00 for a pro install by an alarm shop through the dealer so it is completely warranteed.

I havent quite figured out how to use all the features and set some of the settings, but I am sure I will when I have a few minutes.

So far, I set the alarm off in front of a bunch of people, I started the truck from in the video store, walked up to it, unlocked the door and didnt put the Key in soon enough and the alarm went off. Pretty neat.

Anyway, I will let you know how it goes. I have not seen anywhere online to look at them except www.FordParts.com, I think that was it. They happen to have most parts at up to 40 percent off. Most prices I saw were cheaper than anywhere else.

Let me know what you find. I am thinking about putting a Clifford or Viper in my 99 F-150 due the price and bells and whistles.

Also, mine says it works from over a thousand feet. I believe that to be the case, cause i started mine from inside costco, and it started clear at the far end of a large parking lot!

Anyone have any experience with AstroStart remote starters? That's the only brand I see advertised in my area. Ad says it has up to 2000 ft range.

Yeah I would like an alarm. The AstroStart model 5204 is alarm/remote start. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this brand.
