new 4.2?

I heard a rumor on this forum that they were coming back with the 4.2 for the 2005 models or something. But I can't find where I read someone post that. Does anyone know if this is fact or fiction and can anyone provide a URL for any specs or proof of the continuance of our beloved 4.2?

ok Brian, that was too easy. Looks like the exact same motor but they changed the auto tranny from a 4r70w to a 4r70e.

And it only comes in the RCSB model, cause the engine is too damn weak to pull the "new and improved" f150 body configuration. I wont buy it, no way, no how.

PS Here I come 2006 cobra!

Now that's a switch...I'd still race ya!

I didn't even check the link, but yes they are coming back with it in '05, and I agree, it will be far to powerless. I'm thankful I bought one in '03.

Oh, you can only get it in the old body styling? why would they even keep the old body styling when the new one is out. That's like introducing the new C6 corvette but still building brand new C5's and C4's for sale. Stupid Stupid Stupid. Hey can I still buy a brand new Fairlane?

Huh? No, it is only available in the regular cab short bed configuration...not extended or supercrew.

Correct Garrett!

They should put all their marbles in the same bucket and come up with a Turbo'd V6 F150 with ported heads. Do you realize how much that would sell? I'd buy one!

I just saw a brand new 5.4 4X4 F150 4 door sitting in the parking lot next to a Lincoln Continental and I had to look at it at least 10 times to re-check, but the truck was only about 1/2 an inch higher off the ground than the continental. freakin' stupid. that's not a truck. It's an El Camino revised.

Makes me love my truck even more with every passing day.

Just like yesterday and tomorrow Tom.

I dont like the new f150, and wont buy one until they change it again. Id get a dodge diesel, cause that thing owns the 6.0L right now.

Well, I wouldn't go THAT far, but it is tougher.

I would Joe...Im just not impressed with the 6.00 in comparrison to the 7.3L...just not the same beast. Now, the SD, thats a totally different vehicle...I was more or less talking about the f250
