Fair price for '79 3/4 ton 4x4?
Newbie question:
I found a '79 3/4 ton 4x4 for sale for $4800. The body is in really good condition. The paint still shines, but there is a little rust on the bottom of the passenger door. The interior is also in really good condition (Custom trim level). The truck is mostly stock, except for a 4" susp. lift and 35" tires (half tread). It has a 351m, auto, with dual tanks. It appears to have a D44 front axle and a D60 rear. It also has factory A/C. What is this truck worth? Also the front susp. lift looks like blocks. Is that lift dangerous/legal?
Thanks,
Tom

Well, I think it depends on your location, but front blocks are illeagal here in MI. I recently purchased a fairly rusty, fairly cobbled up '79 F250 for $1300... only reason I grabbed this one is because of it's original mileage(52,000). I decided to make it a winter project...

As you can see, the project is underway. Personally, if the truck drives nice, runs good(with no mechanical or "smoking" defects), and is pretty clean... then it's worth every penny.
