Congrats, running motor is already a great thing. I bet you had a huge grin the whole time it was running. When you gave it throttle, did you start giggling like a little girl? I always do..... I'm assuming this is the 302 pwr 2nd truck right? -4speed

Yes I had a big on my face and it just purrs when the choke is fully open. I blew my junkyard coil and have temporaily borrowed our '78 F-250's. Well the truck isn't going anywhere since it needs guages, tranny shifter, driveshaft shortning, etc. I think I might try to make a video like joners but don't have anywhere to host it. Thanks for the complements guys! You make it all worth while.

Nathan,

Congrats! I'm green with envy. I was hoping to get mine fired up this year, but just didn't get that far.

It will be a little while before I get the video made. I had alot of fun getting it running. Getting the timing right and trying to figure out why it was backfiring through the carb. I finally got it to fire on 4 cylinders than I tried the other fireing order and VROOM. Just my tach doesn't seem to want to work now and it's running a little rich. It never blew blue smoke when it started which was really nice from a junkyard engine.

Nice work Nathan, you'll probably be lay'n rubber down the street in no time! Good luck on the next 2158 nuts, bolts, fittings, and assorted fasteners. John

Congrats on your hard work paying off!! The grin doesn't fade for a long, long time.

If you have a holley carb up top be sure to replace the power valve after the backfire unless you've got one of the 'new' street avengers.
