2003 HD engine/trans mods

I have recently come into possession of a 2003 HD engine and transmission. I am going to put it into my 1991 F150, but while the engine is out i would like to do some mods. What would get me the most performnance increase and isn't too expensive? I also need a service manual. Anybody know where i can get one?

Talking

Hey I was just in pearland today getting my 04' Lightning tuned on the dyno. I go to Strictly Performance off of Mosley. Real close to HWY 45. They did a very nice job. I would talk to them. They will tell you everything you need to know about performance.

Prices are good. They put my truck on the dyno and did 4 pulls, Tuned it, and only charged me $125. Thats pretty cheap considering its $65 for 2 dyno pulls and NO TUNING. Also these guys have some of the fastest cobras around. They know their *****. Have you looked into joining HALO? Those guys know there ***** also. I'm gonna join real soon. Good luck

$125 is a good price. And if they have the fastest Cobras around then you can prolly trust them. I've also heard great things about the HALO guys. I've seen them on a few of the boards and haven't run into any that weren't willing to help someone out. Plus it always seems like they have some kind of event going on.

1) FTVB (Factory Tech Valve Body) for the tranny is the best mod for tranny life, just make sure when you get a chip they lower the fluid pressure. (all L's and HD's should come with this from the factory!!!)

2) Chip, bring the motor to life!

3) 6lb lower pully, add more boost (4lb more than stock L!)

4) Intake, get some more air flowing to the S/C.

Should be 4 simple mods that would add some good HP and TQ to the truck.

Almost forgot...I bought a service manual on cdrom off Ebay. Go on EBay and do a search. My manual included the Lightning.

Was that manual strictly for the HD and L or was it the regular 5.4 manual?
