oxy@acety welding size?

Hello, any recommendations as far as the size of tanks I should buy for oxy@acety welding. The nearest refill shop is a 45 min. drive. I would be using it for the truck, some body work and odds and ends. I would not want to store large tanks, however, I would like to do the jobs without refilling in the middle of a project. Any suggestions for a part time/hobby welder?
Thanks, Monte

get the biggest tanks you can afford. little tanks will take up just as much room as big ones and little tanks are not any safer if that was a concern

Also the price to refill the larger tank is not that much more than a smaller one.

Like Petes4x4 says go large.... it cost me $1.40 more to get a bigger tank filled than the smaller "O" cylinder. Check into a propane cutting tip (also should have a compatible hose) for cutting and heating, it sure does save on acetylene and a 20 pounder lasts a lot longer.

If you dont already have a torch outfit consider the Henrob. This little pistol grip O/A torch is nothing short of amazing and it is very stingy on the gas useage. Do a Google search for info.
Ive been using one for about 4 years and the MIG is now only used for heavy stuff.

Being a certified welder, I must agree with the majority here. Go as large as you can afford to go. The refills arent much more, they take up marginally more space than the small ones, and they will last for a LONG time for a hobbiest.
