Dual exhaust

I have a 93 ranger with 3.0 and 5 speed. I want some dual exhaust for it that will make it sound deeper but not like a rice rocker car. what would be the best muffler and dual tips for it

I can tell you that thrush glasspacks make my 4.0 sound like a honda 4banger. I put on some made by a different company (hearthrob) and it sounds nice. otherwise i've heard that flow's 40 series sound pretty good. Just remember you have a v-6, its not going to sound like an 8. (frown)

im not shure what it would do with a V6, but i have before put a tractor muffler (ment for a oliver 1650 diesel farm tractor) on a V-8 and it gave it a nice sound without being loud. single exhaust though, no converter, 2-1/2 "inlet, 3" outlet, tail pipe off the muffler was a piece of flexpipe that turned 90 degress and dumped straight out the side. pretty cheap too, $15 for the muffler, $7 for the flexpipe, probly around $5 or so for the clamps.

way too funny rac....I grew up on a farm and used to rig up all kinds of crazy contraptions on the equipment. Sounds like we could be cousins from the same mother....too funny. I applaud that one.
There's no place like Farm&Fleet

I have a magnaflow dual exhaust 2 1/2 in pipe from catback sounds nice. But I hear Borla makes them with the most hp and tq but too pricy for my blood.

There are many mufflers available for Rangers. When I replaced the origional on a '93 Ranger, it was trial and error, two bad ones before coming up with a 19" Turbo muffler 1 in two out. It growled at and idle, never hit that awful high pitch at 25-2700 rpms and did not "drone" at cruising speeds. The flowmaster soundes too loud and the "power pak" was even louder and the Turbo was the least expensive. Good luck with your search.

I have the 3.0 5sp so the pick up is good got it pretty much once I got the truck so I don't know if there was a difference. As for mpg don't keep track of it b/c I drive the truck hard and can't get accurate readings so I don't keep track of it but I get about only 1 fill up a week if lucky. I'm going to add as many aftermarket as I can to get the best mpg and hp/tq but sorry don't know the mpg. Oh and it is a 2000 if that makes a difference

i've got a 94 3.0L 5spd, and have been doing a little researching and looks like I might go with hearthrob, any experience with this company, do their systems sound good on a V6?

when i changed out my thrush glasspacks i put on hearthrob glasspacks and it still sounds like rice, just not nearly as bad. I bet their mufflers/ resonator talipipes are better though. Because it barley sounds like rice now.
