could probably just use a dually hub that is for the dana combo you have. i don't really see it being different much from year to year. it would probably work

Ozzy, sounds like we're working on the same project. I've got the front out of a '79 F-250HD, Dama 60 high pinion. I'm in need of the dually front hubs too. From what I've found '79 was the first year Ford ever offered a 350 4x4, but I don't know if a dually was available or not.
Have you considered using spacers, or single wheels on the front and wider tires? Have you found weight class "E" tires that big yet?
I've been told that (gasp) chevy and dodge outers will swap onto the Ford Dana 60. Personally I may try the Chevy part simply because I hate the Ford Disc brake setup. But that's just me I suppose. I'd be interested to know what you find out, keep us posted. Ogre.

79 was the 1st year for 4WD in an F350 chassis, as far as a dually, I have never seen it in a 4WD model.

Nice truck and car... But the front end isn't a "dually"... It's the non deep dish standard wheel.

P.S.

I'm wanting to know the same thing... Except, I'm going out on a limb... I want a CREW CAB Dually 4x4.

Never seen one. I have seen quite a few Crew Cab Duallys though. With the dually front end, but it might have been changed...

I have seen an f-650 crewcab dually 4x4, I have also seen a 79 f-350 4x4 dually cab and chassis that looked original, had budd wheels on the front. Could have been made though. I think you can use parts for the 80's and 90's dually trucks to convert the older axle. I think it is all basicaly the same, could probally use parts from a chevy also.

I'm pretty sure they didn't make a 4x4 duelly untill 97. By then they went to the ball joint d60 front, you should have the kingpin setup. If i'm not mistaken they went to the balljoints in 91.

Ford didn't offer a dual rear wheel F-350 4x4 in 1979. You are on the right track by using the 2wd Dana 70 rear, since they had the same narrow frame as a highboy. For the front hubs, I'm sure something from the 80's will work. Have an auto parts store look up the wheel bearings for your truck, and then one from the 80's. If you can find one that takes the same bearings, the hubs will fit. The store should be able to get you new hub and rotor assemblies as well. You will probably have to search for used caliper brackets, though.

Actually i have seen a truck like yours very recently. 1979 F-350 4x4 Dually cab and Chassis. A sexy rig to say the lest and one of my dream trucks. You got a special rig there. If you ever grow tired of it send it down to East Texas. Lots of us that would love it!

I took Hub's,and rotor's from a 1985 F350 dually,and put them on my 1979 D60 front.They do fit.I have a 1979 Supercab with a 1985 D70 rear,and used 1.5" spacer's on the rear to fit the bud rim's,and as I said I used hub's,and rotor's from a 1985 F350 with a D60 front,and put them on the 1979 D60 front in my Supercab.So now I have a 1979 4x4 Dually Supercab.Now for mod.'s to the p/u box to cover the out side tire!*(LOL)
