I know the front sheet metal on these truck look different. But are they that much different if I wanted to interchange the entire front clip? So I would have a 1952 cab with a 1950 front clip.

 

I am contiplating doing the same with my '51 F-4. As far as I know the front end will bolt right up. Although I have seen it done, I don't think the hoods from the different years will bolt in directly without some modification. The hood latch system is completely different. As long as you keep the same year hood with the corresponding front end there shouldn't be a problem.

If I go with the swap, which will not be even started until next year, I am also going to swap dashboards. The only thing that will tell that it is a '51 is the larger rear window, which I think will be better with the flatbed and full side racks.

 

You can swap the hoods around, all you need to do is swap the same years (51-52) (48-50) hood latch plate from the header panel. I've seen the entire clip swapped with hood done.
