hey matt...speaking of thunder...what do u think of the .45-70, in general??? i'm considering buying that, or something similar, next year...gimme some ballistics, available bullet weights, etc, if u don't mind...

Its a good gun if you are shooting through trees...

ballistics are sad at best... I know everyone has seen the Quigley movie... but the .45/70 just plain can't kill effectively past 300 yards. They make everrything from 230gr all the way to 550gr.

so the .45/70 gov't is a good brush gun, over-all...which's where i'd be using it mostly, anyway...would u prefer a lever-gun, single shot, or ???? i wouldn't plan on using it past about 200 yds at most, unless i was very well versed in how to drop it in on a target...thanks...

i think the Marlin 1895 is a good gun, if you can get over the hideous trigger

Thats cool... I really wanna get this Rem 700 ADL in .22-250, its only $300...

I suppose if I get that, I'll end up spending all my time at the reloading bench.
